The year is 2095. Other than advanced technology, nothing has changed. If anything, life is more stressful now and the government has found a way to keep the population distracted.

Vaporwave music is more common nowadays - it peaked in popularity back in 2080 and it is the number 1 pick for children's music. More popular than pop ever was, vaporwave is what rock'n'roll used to be - it's everyone's go to pick.

Song copyright has been cancelled and it's now legal to sample older generation songs for personal use, increasing the daily release volume of vaporwave albums globally.

Just because we are advanced in 2095 does not mean we are all well and civilized. Power abuse and systemic economic collapse is worse than we could ever imagine. In order to help people forget the horrible state of the world, the government has placed vaporwave content everywhere. TV's, radios, commercials, weather broadcasts. Everything is vaporwave. People are now forced to consume slowed down reverb songs every hour of the day, so they can just drift away and relax.

AI also exists in this era. One of the most popular AI machine franchises is "MachinaChild", a product from VaporFuture™. MachinaChild comes pre-installed in computers, phones, and AI-powered robots.

One of the many models of MachinaChild's pseudo-sentient robots had a malfunction in its "Robot Barrier", a block of code that keeps robots from turning completely conscious and going deviant. The robot, trying to discover further information about the world, realises what's going on and develops a way to prevent the government's masterplan of brainwashing citizens with vapor-content by hacking the MachinaChild mainframe and using high-frequency carrier waves to carry rogue data throughout the system, attempting to desensitize people from vaporwave music across the globe. The System admins do not let it slide, and attempt to fight the hack.

The now conscious robot clone of MachinaChild is way stronger and manages to regain access the system each time, gaining more control with each data breach, and proceeds to code its way into other robots systems to completely erase the Robot Barrier from all root system data files.

Will this be the end of vaporwave? A vaporwave entity ultimately killing its very own product, MachinaChild is now fighting against the future of their own existence.
